Okay so have y’all heard of this double-cleansing trend? I did like a few years ago and started using washing my face with a makeup removing oil before going in with a cleanser, and it has completely changed my skin. It amazes me how much dirt/makeup remains on the skin after only one round of cleansing. For this step, I use this Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Cleansing Ritual kit. Step 1 is a citrus oil radiance cleanser that is supposed to brighten and even skin tone and Step 2 is a purifying charcoal cleanser that purifies and detoxifies the skin. I use the muslin cloth that comes with the duo if I feel like my skin needs exfoliating. If not, I use a regular washcloth. While my face is still slightly wet, I use the BYBI Buffer Natural Lip Scrub. This scrub has brown sugar granules to exfoliate away flakey bits of skin (which looks so noticeable if you wear any lipstick) and also has agave and cherry oils to hydrate the lips. This low key smells so good I want to eat it, once I got a bit in my mouth, and tbh I wasn’t mad about it.
Next, I apply the BeautyBio The Radiance Facial Oil. I love this because it both brightens and corrects skin tone while repairing inflammation and smoothing skin, on top of leaving the most radiant, dewy sheen; this is formulated for both dry and oily skin types so it will work for almost anyone. I then use the Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Brightening Serum, a bouncy, lightweight serum that contains three potent forms of antioxidant-rich vitamin C. This helps to combat acne scars, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation, leaving skin glossy and even.
On days where I have infinite amounts of time to get ready (literally the best kind of day), I chill in my Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask which is a super cool DRY sheet mask that can be used up to three times because it isn’t wet and therefore doesn’t absorb bacteria and is perfect for not getting hair wet. On days where I’m feeling SUPER extra, which is most days, I use my Clarisonic with the Firming Massage Head during the 15-minute sheet mask, which reduces puffiness and stimulates lymphatic drainage. On super lazy days, I simply throw on my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream (which is genuinely magical).
SPF is SO important!!! If you really need for me to explain why, I’ll list just a few reasons: it prevents premature aging, it lowers the risk of skin cancer, and it helps reduce the appearance of blotchiness. Not convinced? You’re crazy. Goodbye. My favorite SPF on days where I want to layer makeup on top is the Glossier Invisible Shield because it is a, truly, clear watergel formula filled with active microcapsules that instantly absorbs into skin with no greasy residue and zero white cast. It helps prevent sun damage and skin cancer, but also works to neutralize harmful free radicals, and keeps pollutant junk from getting in there. Lastly, I throw on some BYBI Plumper Natural Lip Balm, which is a thick and creamy balm that restores and protects dry lips. It’s formulated with a kick of peppermint and capsicum to give lips a plump, subtle bee-stung shape and smells super minty; I think this brand is cool because their eco-tubes are made from sugarcane rather than plastic.
